Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that there is a lack of urgency by our governing bodies to recognise and correct the proliferation of saltwater crocodiles in our fresh water rivers and streams and the dangers they pose. These waters were never inhabited by saltwater crocodiles that are potentially lethal to members of our communities, and of most concern our children.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to enact legislation to remove salt water crocodiles in the Barron and Mitchell Rivers and their tributaries starting from the Barron Falls and Mitchell Falls to the headwaters of these rivers. The safety of all children and rural industry personnel working in irrigated-related industries depends on the House’s support for this action.
