The annual budget for the Legislative Assembly and the Parliamentary Service is presented to the Parliament each year in the form of an Appropriation (Parliament) Bill.

While the Appropriation (Parliament) Bill outlines the total amount required for Members' entitlements and the Parliamentary Service, the Budget Papers, in particular the Speaker's Service Delivery Statement (SDS), provide more detail for the various purposes for which the funding is provided.

The SDS contains detailed financial information (including budgeted financial statements) as well as information outlining activities and current and future performance.
