One role of the Committee Office is to encourage more people to get involved in the work of parliamentary committees.
To help do this, the Committee Office regularly collects feedback from people who participate in parliamentary inquiries or subscribe to our updates. If you are interested in providing feedback via our next subscriber survey, sign up to one of our committees via the Subscribe page.
We use the feedback provided through surveys to improve the committee process. This includes finding ways to make it easier for more people from a wider variety of backgrounds to contribute to committee inquiries.
We keep survey responses confidential, and do not disclose them to third parties.
If you have feedback, concerns, or questions that you would prefer to raise directly, please email us at CommitteeOffice@parliament.qld.gov.au.
In July and August 2023, the Committee Office conducted a survey of subscribers to committee updates. Thank you to everyone who responded to this survey.
Some key findings from the survey include the following:
- Most people reported that the committees’ subscriber updates are helpful.
- Many people said participating in committee activities can be intimidating, even though they describe the process as easy.
- Most people said they are likely to participate in committee activities again.
- Some people felt the limited amount of time available for inquiries had a negative effect on their experience of participating in the committee process.
Based on this feedback, the Committee Office is currently considering several options for improving peoples’ experiences of participating in committee activities.
