Committees

The committee has the following areas of responsibility— (a) the ethical conduct of members; (b) parliamentary powers, rights and immunities; (c) standing rules and orders about the conduct of business by, and the practices and the procedures of, the Assembly and its committees; (d) any other matters for which the committee is given

The Education, Arts and Communities Committee of the 58th Parliament was established by the Queensland Legislative Assembly on 28 November 2024 as a portfolio committee with responsibility for the following portfolio areas: • Education and Arts • Women, Women’s Economic Security, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships and Multiculturalism • Families, Seniors, Disability Services, Child Safety and Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence

The committee’s areas of responsibility as set out in section 104B of the Parliament of Queensland Act 2001 are as follows: dealing with complaints about the ethical conduct of particular members; and dealing with alleged breaches of parliamentary privilege by members of the Assembly and other persons.

The Governance, Energy and Finance Committee of the 58th Parliament was established by the Queensland Legislative Assembly on 28 November 2024 as a portfolio committee. The committee has responsibility for the following portfolio areas: • Premier and Cabinet, Veterans • Treasury, Energy and Home Ownership • Finance, Trade, Employment and Training

The Health, Environment and Innovation Committee of the 58th Parliament was established by the Queensland Legislative Assembly on 28 November 2024 as a portfolio committee responsibility for the following areas: Health, Ambulance Services, Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation.

The Justice, Integrity and Community Safety Committee of the 58th Parliament was established by the Queensland Legislative Assembly on 28 November 2024 as a portfolio committee. The committee has responsibility for the following portfolio areas: Attorney-General, Justice and Integrity Police and Emergency Services Youth Justice, Victim Support and Corrective Services

The Local Government, Small Business and Customer Service Committee of the 58th Parliament was established by the Queensland Legislative Assembly on 28 November 2024 as a portfolio committee. The committee has responsibility for the following portfolio areas: • Local Government, Water, Fire, Disaster Recovery and Volunteers • Customer Services, Open Data, Small and Family Business

The Parliamentary Crime and Corruption Committee is established under the Crime and Corruption Act 2001. The principal functions of the committee are to monitor and review the performance of the functions of the Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC), to report to Parliament on matters relevant to the CCC, and to participate in the selection of Commissioners of the CCC.

The Primary Industries and Resources Committee of the 58th Parliament was established by the Queensland Legislative Assembly on 28 November 2024 as a portfolio committee. The committee has responsibility for the following portfolio areas: • Primary Industries • Natural Resources and Mines • Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development

The State Development, Infrastructure and Works Committee of the 58th Parliament was established by the Queensland Legislative Assembly on 28 November 2024 as a portfolio committee. The committee has responsibility for the following portfolio areas: State Development, Infrastructure, Planning and Industrial Relations; Transport and Main Roads; Housing, Public Works and Youth; Sport, Racing, Olympic and Paralympic Games.
