Safer roads for Redlands
Eligibility - Residents of the State of Queensland39 Begonia Crescent
MOUNT COTTON QLD 4165
Residents of the State of Queensland draw to the attention of the House the urgent need to fund and deliver safety and congestion upgrades on Mount Cotton Road, particularly at the Double Jump Road, Valley Way, and Beenleigh-Redland Bay Road intersections, and the Redland Bay Road and Duncan Road intersection.
Despite extensive planning and consultation by the Department of Transport and Main Roads completed in late 2024, no works have been undertaken, and locals are now seeing an increase in reported instances of accidents, which highlights the urgency of these works to be delivered.
Queensland residents urge the House to take immediate action and ensure these projects move from planning to construction without further delay.
Your petitioners, therefore request the House to do all in its power to:
- Ensure the upgrades of the Double Jump Road and Mount Cotton Road intersection and the Beenleigh-Redland Bay Road intersection (including traffic signals), with construction starting no later than December 2025.
- Confirm the scope and timeline for the promised upgrade of the Valley Way and Mount Cotton Road intersection.
- Provide a clear and publicly available construction timeline for all upgrades.
