Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the increasing concerns of our communities regarding the closure and understaffing of local police beats and stations.

These stations play a critical role in ensuring community safety, crime prevention, and fostering trust between residents and law enforcement. The loss or reduction of these vital services compromises the security and well-being of our neighbourhoods, leaving many residents feeling vulnerable.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to take urgent action to:

1. Prevent the closure of existing police beats and ensure they remain operational.

2. Provide adequate staffing to ensure that every police beat and station is effectively resourced to serve the local community.

3. Invest in community policing initiatives to strengthen the relationship between police and residents.

4. Consult with local communities and stakeholders before making decisions that affect police beat operations.

Your petitioners, further request the House to prioritise community safety by maintaining and appropriately staffing our local police beats and stations.
