Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that for Queensland to move forward, Queensland must: build a new City in the Upper Dawson, build a train line between Roma and Emerald, linking Roma directly to the Port of Gladstone, and build an aqueduct system between North Queensland rivers and the new city, similar to the one between San Francisco and Los Angeles. $20 billion of the state's annual GDP comes from the Central Highlands, and $2.7billion of the state's annual GDP comes from the Marona District. Building a new city with an international airport will bring prosperity and jobs to the entire Western Queensland districts and would bring to Queensland economic and social benefits for many thousands of years.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all within its power to:

1.  establish a new city in the Upper Dawson area of Queensland;

2.  build a train line between Springsure (Emerald) and Roma, directly linking Roma to Gladstone Sea Port; and

3.  build an aqueduct system connecting the state’s northern rivers to the new city in the Upper Dawson.
