Rescind fines issued by intentional misrepresentation of roadworks activity

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House, that in many sites across Queensland, road works signs and speed limit signs are placed when there are no actual road works being carried out.
An example of this is at the Bremer River Bridge on the Warrego Highway at Bundamba. It is reported that there is an issue with the south bound section of the road bridge in the RH lane, but there is not a single issue with the inbound bridge or road, yet both have roadwork signs and speed restrictions and the Police have placed a semi-permanent and mobile radars in these sections, but there has been no road works carried out in either section for more than 12 months. In this southbound section, heavy trucks are required to travel slower in the LH lane over the bridge, but all traffic is speed restricted on both roads. Placing road works signs when there is clearly no road work activity and fining motorists is collecting revenue by intentional misrepresentation.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all within its power to:
1. Rescind all fines in areas where there was clearly no road work activity at the time of the alleged offence; and
2. All roadwork and associated speed limit signs be removed or covered up at sites where there is no current road work activity.
