Legal Studies Youth Parliament
The Legal Studies Youth Parliament provides Year 11 and 12 students currently studying Legal Studies with the opportunity to experience Queensland's law-making process first-hand.
Students allocated a speaking role will:
- debate a mock Bill, or
- speak in an Adjournment Debate
- provide a Private Members' Statement about any issue falling within the jurisdiction of the Queensland Parliament.
Students may also be allocated a non-speaking or scripted role.

Other important information
- A substantial morning tea is provided for students, teachers and support staff, parents and caregivers who purchase a ticket.
- Wear full school uniform (unless you are a non-uniform school).
- Mobile phones must be turned off and put away during the session.
- There will be storage facilities available for any bags.
- You can have a water bottle with you in the Chamber.
Nominate your students
Each school can nominate up to 4 students to take part. The number of student participants allocated per school will depend on the number of schools that nominate.
If you would like to participate, book your ticket (1 per student) from Monday 9 February 2026 via Humanitix (closing Friday 27 February 2026). Teachers are not required to book a ticket to attend.
Parent, caregiver and guest tickets
Parents, caregivers and guests are welcome to observe their young person(s) take part in the 2026 Legal Studies Youth Parliament. Tickets will be available from Monday 30 March 2026 (closing Thursday 30 April), and includes morning tea.
Parents, caregivers and guests who miss the registration period are welcome to attend the Youth Parliament, but we kindly ask you to allow others to eat their morning tea first, as we are not catering for additional attendees to limit food waste as much as possible.
