About the Bill

On 8 March 2018, the Hon Dr Anthony Lynham MP, Minister for Natural Resources, Mines and Energy introduced the Vegetation Management and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2018 into the Queensland Parliament. The Bill was referred to the State Development, Natural Resources and Agricultural Industry Development Committee for detailed consideration.

The explanatory notes stated that the primary policy objective of the bill is to amend the Vegetation Management Act 1999, Planning Act 2016, Planning Regulation 2017 and Water Act 2000 to reinstate responsible clearing laws.
