Brisbane South Youth Parliament
About the event
The Brisbane South Youth Parliament was held on Friday 8 August 2025 at Parliament House, Brisbane.
The event, hosted by the Queensland Parliament, gave Year 5 and 6 students the opportunity to learn more about how the Queensland Parliament operates by participating as 'Youth Members'.
Students who were allocated a speaking role either:
- debated a motion,
- spoke in an adjournment debate, or
- provided a private members' statement on an issue within the jurisdiction of the Queensland Parliament.
Some students were allocated a non-speaking or scripted role.
