To the Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of
Queensland.

The petition of the undersigned citizens of Queensland draws to the
attention of the House the fact that the proposed Community Ambulance
Cover appears intended to be applied inequitably, based on electricity
usage rather than on private usage. For example, it appears that
businesses will be levied, whereas the proprietors of those businesses
will also be levied; it appears that persons owning more than one home
will be levied more than once, i.e. once for each home. We have no
objection to paying a levy based on a principal place of residence; we
object strenuously to any citizen of Queensland having to pay more than
one levy per family unit (consisting of a couple living together and
their dependent children).

Your petitioners therefore request the House to ensure that whatever
legislation is put in place is equitable, so that no one who presently
pays an Ambulance subscription is worse off as a result of the new
legislation.
