The petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House that residents of Chancellor Park, Sippy Downs in the State electorate of Kawana on the Sunshine Coast have very serious concerns about the revelation that the Maroochy Shire Council has allegedly presided over the ongoing development of inefficient water bodies or lakes at Chancellor Park.
Further, there is major concern in our community about some of the Maroochy Shire Council Elected representative/s and Staff, and their alleged failure to properly perform the duties in which they are/were entrusted to do.
As a result of recent reports, we the local residents strongly believe these concerning revelations must be thoroughly investigated not only by Maroochy Shire Council, but by relevant State Authorities to ensure improved and more appropriate outcomes for the benefit of our entire Community.
Your petitioners therefore request that the House:
• Ensure the Maroochy Council as the local government authority entrusted to approve and oversee appropriate planning processes for Chancellor Park Estate, be called upon to thoroughly investigate and mitigate the impacts of all relevant planning approvals, whether by Elected Councillors or their delegated authority; and
• Call on the State to request Maroochy Council to immediately release all reports & supporting documents on these Local Government Planning matters without deletion (save for the names/personal details of any complainants therein); &
• That NO additional Council Rates, Charges or Levies be imposed on the Residents of Chancellor Park, Sippy Downs in order to rectify this obvious costly planning mistake that Maroochy Shire Council must accept responsibility for.
