Queensland citizens draw the attention of the House to the impending loss of the heritage-listed Hornibrook Bridge which
spans the communities of Sandgate and Redcliffe. The bridge was constructed in 1935, (and at almost 2kms in length), it
is one of the oldest and longest timber and girder bridges in Australia.

Your petitioners therefore ask the House to request that the State and surrounding councils co-operate concerning
ongoing maintenance costs to protect and preserve this unique piece of Queensland’s heritage, which is also a major
recreational icon for families, cyclists, joggers, walkers, anglers and people with disabilities.
