The Petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the urgent need to connect Eagle Street across Goodna Creek.

Ipswich is rapidly growing and suburbs like Redbank, Redbank Plains and Collingwood Park will continue to grow quickly.

New housing developments continue to be approved, and we need road infrastructure to keep up with growth.

The connection of Eagle Street across Goodna Creek has been identified in the Ipswich City Council’s Local Government Infrastructure Plan since at least 2018.

Current plans do not schedule the connection before at least 2036 and need to be brought forward urgently.

Completing the Eagle Street link would allow better access to the school, improve the safety of Eagle Street, connect Collingwood Park to Redbank and Redbank Plains, and ease pressure on local roads like Collingwood Drive.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all in its power to accelerate plans to connect Eagle St across Goodna Creek.
