The Petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House to the current generation of high-power electric scooters which has been strongly linked to a growing number of injuries and deaths for riders and pedestrians in Queensland and around the world. The scooters with motors larger than 250W are understood to be high-powered scooters in the majority of jurisdictions around Australia (Western Australian, Tasmania, Victoria, Northern Territory).
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to put an end to high-power scooters usage.
