The Petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the urgent need for a pedestrian overpass over the Centenary Highway and roundabout at South Ripley in light of several near-misses between pedestrians and motorists in recent months, and two teenagers being injured in a recent incident. The Centenary Highway at this location cuts through the bustling, integrated neighbourhood of the Ripley Valley, the fastest growing corridor in Queensland. Residents of South Ripley must cross the highway at this location to walk to their local shops, and school students attending Ripley Valley State Secondary College must cross the highway at this location to walk home from school.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all within its power to provide a safe pedestrian overpass over the Centenary Highway at South Ripley.
