The Petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House that publicly owned buildings and many publicly owned properties in Queensland display the words Queensland Government. Giving the false impression that these buildings and properties are owned by a separate entity called "Queensland Government" when in fact they are owned by the people of Queensland.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to investigate and begin the process of removing the words Queensland Government from publicly owned buildings and property and replacing with the words “publicly owned by the people of Queensland” or words that leave no doubt that the people of Queensland are the owners.
