The Petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the need to investigate, create and begin two-year guaranteed traineeships for disability pensioners, in the field of their choice, fully paid.
The traineeships would be run by skilled people in their field with the end result creating skilled employable people who would become fully employable into the future, no longer needing a disability pension where possible.
No one should be left behind because of the way they were born.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all within its power to investigate, create and begin two-year guaranteed traineeships in Queensland for disability pensioners, in the field of their choice, creating an employment history, opportunities and employability into the future.
