Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House in answer to e-petition 3948-23 the Honourable Mark Ryan said that COVID-19 death data is given to the Australian Bureau of Statistics and they publish that data every month approximately six weeks after receiving a month’s worth of data. This means the first data could be up to ten weeks’ old before being made public.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all within its power to instruct the Department of Health to publish COVID-19 death data at the same time that data is sent to the ABS. The department provides data to the ABS daily and weekly so should be published on the department website daily and weekly.
