b) The need in the southern corridor of Cairns for a new public hospital facility, to provide a high level of health care, across a general array of health services to the suburbs of: Earlville, Bayview Heights, Woree, White Rock, Mount Sheridan, Wrights Creek, Packers Camp, Green Hill, Glen Boughton, East Trinity, Yarrabah, Bentley Park, Edmonton, Mount Peter, Gordonvale, Little Mulgrave, Goldsborough, Aloomba, Fishery Falls, Deeral, Bellenden Ker, Babinda, and East Russell.

c) A new South Cairns Base Hospital would provide the solution to the overloaded health care system at the Cairns Base Hospital. The Cairns Base Hospital services a large area for specialist services.

d) A new proposed South Cairns Base Hospital will specifically provide a high level of general health and specialist care to the Southern Region of Cairns with the provisions of:

  • Acute Inpatient Care
  • Emergency Care
