The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House, work to raise the platform at Yeerongpilly Railway Station will result in demolition of the old station building and removal of the existing wooden seating benches. These benches are more comfortable than the metal seats, don’t get hot in summer, cold in winter, rust and can be used by more people. They are part of the history of the station and should be kept.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to retain the wooden benches currently in use at Yeerongpilly Railway Station and return them after work on the new platform has been completed.
