Queensland citizens draws to the attention of the House that in four petitions to Parliament (3573-21, 3817-22, 3842-22 and 2950-18) the people have asked that solar panels and batteries be mandated for new homes or prior to completion of sale or rental contracts. Ministers DeBrenni, Lynham and Bailey have not supported a mandate for solar panels and/or batteries. With the current electricity pricing, we the people, are suffering from government inaction, none more so than the poorest of the poor.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to install solar panels and batteries on as many government homes as possible. On some it may not be possible, but the majority of the 55,000 or so government homes will be able to have solar panels and batteries installed. The savings for our poorest of the poor will be spent in the economy and would probably do wonders for local businesses.
