Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the intersection of Buaraba Creek Road and Gatton-Esk Road and concerns that this intersection is unsafe. This section of road is currently 100 km/h and the intersection is also a busy school bus stop. Due to increased traffic on Gatton-Esk Road, the intersection’s proximity to Fred From Bridge, and no turning lanes at this location, concerns are increasing in relation to road safety at this busy intersection.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to call on the State Government to:

(a) conduct a road safety audit of the Buaraba Creek Road intersection and the alignment of the Fred From Bridge;

(b) consider a speed reduction at this location to 80 km/hr; and

(c) plan and install turning lanes at the intersection for vehicles travelling in both directions.
