TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House
- to the lack of community consultation in relation to the Tara Hospital Redevelopment
- the fact three months has passed since the Government stated to the Parliament that a communications plan for the Tara Hospital Redevelopment would be developed
- the known flood impacts on the current redevelopment site.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all within its power to
- immediately permit representatives from the Tara Hospital Auxiliary on all Tara Hospital Redevelopment working groups
- consult immediately with the Western Downs Regional Council with regard to the location of the redeveloped hospital to ensure flood immunity is maintained for the Hospital
- ensure that the Helipad remains fully operational during and after the redevelopment
- conduct community consultation open to the public in the Tara District within one month of the launch of this petition.
