Queensland citizens draws to the attention of the House the absence of an offence for breach of bail by youth offenders and notes the increase in break and enters, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and burglary by youth offenders.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to help address the youth crime crisis by making breach of bail an offence for youth offenders. This measure will send a strong message that repeated criminal behaviour will not be tolerated, hold young individuals accountable for their actions while on bail, and play an important role in keeping communities safe.
