TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House given that rain which fills water storage facilities in Queensland is given freely from God at no charge to anyone and that developers as part of their approval process provide the necessary infrastructure to deliver that water to allotments on developments and that the state government, through council charges, collect a fee from ratepayers for connection to that infrastructure.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to have local councils in Queensland cease the practice of charging landowners a cost for water on top of water infrastructure charges.
