Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that the people of Gold Coast have lost confidence in the Mayor and the Surfers Paradise Councillor. The leadership of the Gold Coast City Council is vital, not only to Gold Coast residents, but to the well-being of the whole of the state. Mayor Tom Tate and Gold Coast City Councillor Mr Darren Taylor have failed to show appropriate leadership.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to call upon the Minister for Local Government to bring in a law that will allow the dismissal of Gold Coast City Council Mayor Tom Tate and Gold Coast City Councillor Darren Taylor.
