Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the urgent need for planned and funded infrastructure to support better access from Bauple to the Tiaro bypass of the new Bruce Highway. 

The lack of appropriate access on and off the proposed bypass is a major safety concern. One of the main reasons for the bypass is to provide flood immunity on the Bruce Highway. Current design proposals provide access to the Highway via a service road which is prone to flooding and heavy vehicles redirected through main streets and around pedestrian traffic.

These design proposals have been determined with little consultation with the residents of Bauple.

Your petitioners, therefore, request a review of the decision for the current design proposals for the Bauple to Tiaro bypass and that further consultation be undertaken with the residents of Bauple and surrounding areas.
