Queensland citizens draws to the attention of the House that the danger posed by the COVID-19 virus is not fully alleviated by the currently available vaccines as even those people who are fully vaccinated can still be infected with the virus and transmit it to others. Thus, it is not so much not being vaccinated that poses the greatest risk to others, but actually being infected with the virus.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to urge the government to consider (via detailed medical / mathematical / financial modelling subsequently made publicly available) urgently replacing the vaccine mandate in those industry sectors currently deemed to pose the greatest risk to society, with a suitable regime of rapid antigen testing (possibly including more regular testing for non-vaccinated people) to quickly detect those who are actually carrying the virus, even though asymptomatic. In this way, those at risk from infection can still be protected without the need to impose a more invasive medical procedure upon those who have serious concerns about it (or face subsequent loss of livelihood and serious disruption to their life – a degree of coercion your petitioners feel is quite at odds with the notion of a free society).
