Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the following:

1. “Unvaccinated people will be banned from State Parliament but MPs will be exempt under a directive that comes into effect next week.” (12/12/21, Chloe Read, Brisbane Times) (The directive cites s.50(7) of the Parliamentary Service Act)

2. “Almost 200 Queensland police officers have been granted exemptions for the COVID-19 vaccine.” (28/10/21, Sally Rafferty, ABC News)

3. Queensland government website, Public health and social measures from 17 December 2021:

a. “…there will be no capacity restrictions on businesses that are only permitted to allow fully vaccinated people to attend, including: hospitality venues … indoor entertainment venues … outdoor entertainment activities … festivals … Queensland government owned galleries, museums or libraries…”

b. “unvaccinated people will be unable to visit vulnerable settings, including hospitals, residential aged care, disability accommodation services, and prisons… “

c. “A person who cannot be vaccinated must show an evidence of contraindication. This is a medical certificate stating that a person is exempted from getting a COVID-19 vaccination.”

d. Temporary or permanent exemptions must be registered on the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to provide the people of Queensland an explanation as to:

(1) why MPs and high-ranking police officers are exempt from the COVID-19 vaccinations;

(2) Under what “Exemption Circumstance” are the exempted MPs and bureaucrats registered on the AIR; and

(3) Will exempted personnel be treated as vaccinated Queenslanders after 17th December?
