Coal demand outlook risk to Queensland economy

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that the growing trend of the market in regards to coal showing demand is in the decline. India and China are looking to be energy independent over the next decade and Japan is moving from coal to hydrogen power stations. This will mean that we will see a decrease in our export revenue which the Queensland economy depends on which is currently around $60 billion.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to have a plan to build a strong export economy around hydrogen, international HVDC connectors, and other emerging renewables export industries to balance the loss of revenue from coal that we will see over the next decade to ensure a stable and prosperous Queensland economy.
