Coastal hazard rezoning
Eligibility - Queensland residents3/33 Central Street

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that proposed new zoning laws in the coastal communities at Carmila Beach, Clairview and St Lawrence will effect 70% of land to be rezoned and have detrimental effects on these communities by way of increased insurance premiums, restrictive development, social and mental health impacts on residents and possible loss of investments due to “High Risk No Development” in these areas.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to ensure that if zoning is to move forward there needs to be local studies and site-specific oceanography conducted in each area before any plans are actioned and clear scientific determinations for the now not futuristic 80-year predictions.
