Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that any law requiring those who receive a tattoo in Queensland to be registered with government would be inherently offensive. It would represent an unjustified infringement of privacy, imply that the tattooed are more likely than not to engage or aid in criminal activity, and involve a waste of finite government resources.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to assure the people of Queensland that the House will pass no laws creating a mandatory government register of the tattooed or of those who receive a tattoo.
