Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the generous offer of $4 million by the Brisbane City Council to purchase the disused Wynnum Central State School site from the State Government. The council is proposing to use the site to build a new public library with community meeting facilities, create a new park and also to provide some redevelopment opportunities to help revitalise the Wynnum CBD into a vibrant, mixed use urban village.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to urgently accept Council's offer so that the Wynnum-Manly community can benefit from new and upgraded public facilities to help revitalise the Wynnum CBD.
