Charters Towers residents draws the attention of the House to the danger to health, noise and smell emanating from the bat colony in Lissner Park.

Council workers are required to wear protective clothing and masks when undertaking gardening duties in the park.
Residents strongly object to the astounding decision of the Wildlife Management Director, Nick Rigby, and the State Government, to reject the Charters Towers Regional Council's application to move the bats from Lissner Park.
Your petitioners therefore request the House to support the Charters Towers Regional Council and local MP Shane Knuth, in their efforts to move the bats from Lissner Park and invite Mr Rigby, Hon Stephen Robertson Minister for Natural Resources and Environment Minister Hon Kate Jones to Charters Towers to debate DERM's decision at the children's play area in Lissner Park at a time of 6pm.
