To the Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of
Queensland.
The petition of the electors of the Division of Whitsunday draws to the
attention of the House that Mackay’s Northern Beaches residents have only
a two lane road as their major access road and need the road upgraded to
provide for safe access to and from the Northern Beaches. Accidents on
this section cause a total shut down of the road.
Your petitioners therefore request the House to upgrade the section of
Mackay-Bucasia Road between Eimeo Road turnoff and Mackay-Habana Road
turnoff to four lanes by June 2004.
